Our 2023 show…
Something’s coming, something good.
Following the success of All Shook Up, Hyde Musical Society return to the stage in 2023 with the one of the most popular musicals of all time – West Side Story.
This masterpiece is filled with vibrant songs and dance routines including America, Tonight, Maria and I Feel Pretty, West Side Story is still an audience favourite after more than six decades.
Set in 1950’s New York, this new production will feature dazzling choreographed numbers alongside flawless musical arrangements.
Based on Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, West Side Story explores the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two teenage street gangs from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. The story follows Tony and Maria, two young lovers from opposite sides of the street war. A story that will continue to be current in any age.
West Side Story first opened at the Winter Garden Theatre on Broadway in September 1957 to rave reviews and has continued to delight audiences ever since. We are delighted to be bringing it the Hyde Festival Theatre.
Get it in your dairy now. Don’t miss this exciting new production!
